Professional Development for Spiritual Care

Program Overview

Qualities and Values and Presence and Listening Skills e-modules are adapted from the Spirituality in Aged Care Professional Development Program and are designed to equip aged care organisations with outcome focused, practical tools for integrating spiritual care for older people.

Each module focuses on a core area that can enable all staff engage in spiritual care within the workplace. Using a reflective focus, they can be used by individuals or by small groups. Each module will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Completing all 5 modules would earn 2 CPE Points and form the basis of fundamental pathways of professional development program for spiritual care.

Expanded Module: Spiritual Care Orientation: An integral part of caring – In this LMS e-modulestaff can learn at their own pace, engaging with the concepts of spirituality and spiritual care to build confidence in offering spiritual care in their day to day activities. This content is an abridged version of our face-to-face orientation program. (45-60 minutes)

ConnecTo Spiritual Screening Tool – This LMS e-module introduces spiritual screening and assessment concepts and invites the learner to participate in real life conversations to integrate their learning. A great way to introduce the ideas in our popular ConnecTo tool, the e-module forms the first part of training in ConnecTo, which also includes a face-to-face learning component. The full face-to-face program is available as a hard copy resource for our members. (45 minutes)

Walking Together – The Uluru Statement from the Heart module covers First Nations history, and deals with matters such as: What is the Uluru Statement from the Heart calling for? What is the notion of spiritual sovereignty and why is it so important? The social and economic policies and practices that have accumulated across generations and subsequent impacts on First Nations people; and how to be a positive ‘accomplice’ in support of First Nations communities.

Access e-modules via Meaningful Ageing Australia’s LMS

Option 1: Access our growing list of online e-modules directly from the Meaningful Ageing Australia LMS system.* This option provides certificates for attendees and completion usage reports for your organisation.

Option 2: Contact admin@meaningfulage.org.au to register for approval to download SCORM files for your LMS. Usage of the SCORM file option requires registration and removal on cessation of membership, and a registered contact point for IT updates or maintenance. If you require assistance in setting up your e-modules, please contact admin@meaningfulage.org.au.

Terms and Conditions

These are only available to current members of Meaningful Ageing Australia for internal use in your organisation.

If your membership expires, you are obligated to delete all copies of the e-modules from your systems.
