NEW BOARD FOR PASCOP

PASCOP today welcomed two new members to its Board which will be responsible for driving the organisation’s growth and membership service program until 2017.

The two members are Mark Butler and Raad Richards. Mark, from South Australia is the Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy Services Manager for Eldercare Incorporated and Raad (NSW) is Chief Executive of Carrington Centennial Care.

Executive Officer David Petty said the past year had been significant with a focus on strategy and advocacy.

“A number of new initiatives and resources were introduced including the annual PASCOP Quality in Pastoral & Spiritual Practice Awards, a national award recognising innovation and excellence in the delivery of pastoral and spiritual care for older people from within the PASCOP membership,” Mr Petty said.

He said that significant progress had been made on the long-awaited National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care, the development of which are resonating with the sector.
