I don’t need to tell you that there is a lot happening in aged care at present. In addition to actively supporting 1.3 million older Australians, engaging with many millions more who make up their families and loved ones, plus inspiring a workforce of 366 000 people*, your organisations are working hard to ensure compliance with the new Aged Care Quality Standards and engage with the Royal Commission in to Aged Care Quality and Safety.
So the pace of work has increased whilst the lives of older people continue to go at their own pace. We are busy for a good reason, however, there is a risk that we will become so out of pace with those we are supporting we are not able to get alongside them.
