The 2015 Senior Australian of the Year and best-selling author Jackie French recently visited residents and staff at Blue Care’s Avalon aged care home in Emerald.
The author encouraged residents to preserve their history and memories, and highlighted the importance of capturing that information to share with their families. She encouraged them to tell their real history using iPads or recording equipment so that in 20 to 30 years’ time people can hear their voice telling their own stories.
